Lens Impression
One of 'The Origin of Double-Gauss type lens'.
'Opic' is designed by H.W.Lee of Taylor,Taylor & Hobson in 1920 as
the development of 'Planar' which was designed by Dr.Paul Rudolph in 1895-6
with 4 groups 6 lenses composition and it became the ancestor of the Modern
Fast normal lens. The main characteristic of 'Opic' is its asymmetry.
This lens is very rare 35mm and MS Optical modified to couple with Leica
putting into very beautiful body.
The description of this 35mm is soft and flared in full aperture but gets
very high contrast and the center of picture is very sharp in closed
apperture. Peripheral area shows a little disorder as its oldness made
in around 1926-7.
The serial number of 119 thousand means very early type of Opic.
